Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist (bilingual) - Full-Time

Location- Perry, and/or Ames, Iowa

Woodward Community Based Services (WCBS) is hiring a Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist (BHIS) to provide in-home and community-based mental health services for children, adolescents, and families.

This full-time position supports clients ages 4–21 with behavioral health needs, skill development, and mental health interventions to improve functioning at home, school, and in the community.

  • Provide in-home behavioral health services and community-based services
  • Deliver BHIS skill development for children and adolescents (bilingual)
  • Support families using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach
  • Collaborate with therapists and supervisors on treatment planning
  • Complete required clinical documentation and progress notes
  • Travel to client homes, schools, and community settings
  • Spanish language skills (bilingual)
  • Schedule: Flexible, primarily afternoons and evening, with occasional weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field

OR equivalent experience/training in child mental health services

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or families preferred
  • Knowledge of behavioral interventions, mental health diagnosis, and ethical standards
  • Must meet Iowa BHIS requirements and be at least 3 years older than clients under 18
  • Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

Work Environment

WCBS promotes a trauma-informed, trauma-responsive culture. Employees complete Sanctuary Training within 60 days of hire.
