A Master Technician at Gemba Automotive is the pinnacle of technical expertise and shop leadership. This role focuses on expert diagnosis, comprehensive repairs, and guiding the team to achieve the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Expert Diagnosis and Troubleshooting
- Perform advanced diagnostic tasks to identify and resolve complex issues across all vehicle systems, including electrical, engine, transmission, and drivability concerns.
- Use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and techniques to pinpoint root causes quickly and accurately.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians for troubleshooting challenging problems.
Perform Comprehensive Repairs
- Complete in-depth repairs on all types of systems and components, ensuring reliability and safety.
- Follow diagnostic results to perform repairs that address the precise issue, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Shop Leadership and Mentorship
- Act as a role model and leader within the shop, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Mentor less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their growth.
- Assist the shop foreman with coordinating workflow and maintaining an efficient work environment.
Technical Guidance
- Provide expertise to service advisors and other team members regarding repair options, timelines, and costs.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry developments to ensure the shop employs cutting-edge techniques and tools.
Documentation
- Record all services performed, diagnostic steps, and parts used with precision in repair orders.
- Document recommendations for additional repairs or maintenance to maintain customer vehicles in top condition.
Quality Control and Testing
- Conduct post-repair quality checks and test drives to verify that repairs were completed correctly.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds safety and performance standards before releasing vehicles to customers.
Continuing Education
- Commit to professional growth by pursuing ongoing certifications, including advanced ASE levels, and attending technical training.
- Share newly acquired knowledge with the team to elevate the shop’s collective expertise.
