Position Overview
The Compliance Engineer provides energy storage system product compliance support and deliverables for product development, sales proposals, and projects by working with key stakeholders; customers, colleagues, consultants and authorities having jurisdiction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide support for product development and sales proposals through reviews and analysis of codes and standards requirements.
- Provide compliance support for projects and provide reviews and input for compliance deliverables.
- Review products and projects versus applicable codes and standards and perform gap analyses.
- Understand local requirements to facilitate project deployments.
- Collaborate with colleagues globally on compliance topics.
- Represent LGES Vertech in customer/key stakeholder meetings, industry events, and committee meetings.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in energy storage systems (ESS) is desired.
- Detailed familiarity with existing codes and standards and certification processes, especially for energy storage systems (e.g. UL1973, UL9540, NFPA 855).
- Knowledge of fire safety solutions is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to effectively communicate through multiple channels, including conference calls, e-mails, video conferences, and in-person meetings.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- 4 years of experience with ESS,2years direct experience with ESS compliance
Location & Travel
- Travel: 10-15%
- Preference is for those who can work in the LGES Vertech office in Westborough, MA.
