Join Our Team as a Forklift Operator – Day Shift | Stockton Distribution Center (Pipe Yard)

PACE Supply’s Distribution Center in Stockton, CA is currently hiring Forklift Operators for our Pipe Yard.

This role involves operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move large pipe and related materials, picking, receiving, and putting away product in designated areas, using RF scanners to accurately track inventory movement, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company productivity standards.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Must be available for daily overtime

Responsibilities

• Looks up part numbers, quantities, product locations, and customer information on the computer, as appropriate.
• Refills shelves and racks from overstock, as needed.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a cooperative manner with customers, co-workers and managers.
• Receives orders through supervisor from prepared and prioritized work tags.
• Pulls orders from inventory, manually and/or utilizing forklift.
• Maintains cleanliness of the overall facility to support safety standards, with an emphasis on the area assigned to the work-group.
• Operate equipment such as order picker, stand up and/or reach lift, Combi lift. 
• Utilize an RF scanner for daily tasks

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the job would qualify.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent education
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills.
• Dedication to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Proficient in time management, consistently meeting responsibilities within designated timeframes.
• Collaborative mindset, fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external interactions with customers and manufacturers.
• Basic math skills, including counting and performing computations up to four digits.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, including keyboarding.
• Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and oral communication.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, considering all factors and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Adherence to workplace rules, methods, policies, and procedures.

Work Environment

Physical Requirements:

• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
