About the Role

The Food Transporter provides safe, timely and routine transportation of food from our  Onondaga campus to Reaching Higher sites according to Highfields’ policies, state laws, safety and security standards.

**You will need to deliver food to Eaton Rapids Greyhound Intermediate School, Washington Woods Middle School in Holt and Waverly Middle School in north Lansing.

**Delivery days are Monday and Wednesday from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or less) (1.5 - 3 hours max per week)

Education / Requirements: 

  • High school diploma.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provides transportation of food from the Onondaga campus to Reaching Higher sites.
  • Returns food transport containers and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Completes and maintains documentation as required for each trip driven.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience: 

  • Must be a person of good moral character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strengths to carry out assigned duties.
  • Ability to show sensitivity to the service population, including cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Must maintain an insurable driving record according to Highfields' liability insurance policy requirements.
  • Must provide own transport vehicle.
  • Must provide proof of auto insurance coverage.
  • Must be punctual and demonstrate the ability to be responsive to meeting specific time frames.
