Summary:

  Sells new and/or used medium- and heavy-duty, electric trucks in accordance with established profit and unit count objectives.


Salary Base ($36,000 annually )+ Earned Commission Position

Requirements

  • Sells medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Assists customers in selecting/ordering trucks.
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the sale of new and used medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Ensure you are up to date with these regulations. Ex; CARB, EV compliance.
  • Understands product that is being sold.
  • Overcomes constant objections.
  • Meets or exceeds objectives for new- and/or used-truck deliveries established by dealership.
  • Uses all reasonable methods of prospecting for new-and used-truck customers daily, either by telephone or by making calls to individuals/businesses outside the dealership. Log 25 calls a week / 100 calls a month into the CRM.
  • Prepares and turns in to the Truck Sales Manager outside sales call reports, listing who was called, what units were quoted and units available for sale, (if applicable).
  • Provides follow-up and ongoing service to existing customers.
  • Offers service to all walk-in and call-in customers on assigned floor days.
  • Demonstrates new and used trucks to customers. (May include test drives.)
  • Closes new- and used-truck deals.
  • Writes complete and accurate sales orders, secures deposits, and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
  • Prepares purchaser statements.
  • Delivers new trucks, explaining new-truck warranty and service policies.
  • Attends sales and training meetings.
  • Studies truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application continually.
  • Appraises used trucks when necessary.
  • Collects accurate and complete financial data on customers when necessary.
  • Travels to corporate headquarters/factor when needed to complete required training and/or take customers to view factory.
  • Prepares new or used trucks for delivery and provide write-ups to shop to complete necessary work to be performed per deal.
  • Works with Finance Department to secure financing for customer.
  • Safeguards information system assets by identifying abnormalities, reporting suspicious activity and/or content, and contributing to the resolve of cyber security problems. Adhere to all regulatory guidelines regarding sensitive customer information. Utilize Comply Auto for all communication of sensitive customer information.
  • Works as a team with fellow employees.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain business by staying in regular communication with existing customers.
  • Utilize the service department for any and all questions related to service.
  • Act as a Consultant to customers on these regulations to ensure their comprehension.
  • Promote, quote, and sell electric trucks to potential customers.
  • Promote, quote, and sell all product lines offered by Affinity.
  • Implement effective sales strategies to meet electric sales targets.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Obtains a class B or A driver’s license.
  • Valid Driver license and ability to be insured by Affinity

Work Schedule and Travel:

Due to the nature of our business, and the duties of the position in particular, the actual schedule you will be required to work will vary based upon many factors, including, but not limited to, the business needs of our Company, the schedules of our customers, the season of the year, etc. You may also need to travel out of State for meetings, training, conventions, etc. You will be reimbursed for travel expenses in accordance with Affinity Truck Center’s travel policy.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements for this position include the following:

  • Environment: Frequently works inside/outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Environment: Occasional exposure to excessive loud noise
  • Environment: Frequent Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, chemicals, etc.
  • Lifting and carrying: Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 90 pounds
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, reaching: Must be capable of frequent twisting and bending down to pick up items from lower shelves, and reaching up for items stored at higher levels.
  • Vision: Must have at least 20/40 acuity in each eye with or without correction.
  • Hearing: Ability to perceive a “forced whisper” at a distance of 5 feet or less, with or without hearing aids.
  • Mobility: Ability to enter and exit the vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Mobility: Capability to climb into and out of trucks, which may involve using steps or ladders. Must maintain three points of contact when entering and exiting trucks at all times.
  • Dexterity in operating controls such as steering wheels, pedals, and gear shifts.
  • Standing: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a certain percentage of the workday, such as 50% or more
  • Walking: Regularly moving about on foot within the work area, which may involve navigating through tight spaces or uneven surfaces.
  • Hand Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and arms for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching, typing, etc.
  • Sitting: Frequent sitting while using a computer, operating a vehicle, operating a forklift, driving a golf cart, sitting at a desk, attending meetings, trainings, seminars, etc.

In addition to base pay, actual total compensation may vary based on hours worked, performance, skillset, eligibility for overtime, performance-based bonuses or commissions, and employer-paid benefits.
