The Senior Banquet Chef plays a critical role in upholding these standards by ensuring that every banquet
and special event reflects the quality, professionalism, and hospitality that members and guests have come
to expect from The Minneapolis Club.
Position Summary:
The Senior Banquet Chef is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality
food for banquet functions, receptions, weddings, and special events at the Club. This role requires a highly
skilled culinary professional with a minimum of 10 years of banquet or high-volume kitchen experience.
The Senior Banquet Chef ensures all banquet food is produced efficiently, consistently, and to the highest
culinary standards. This position collaborates closely with the banquet and service teams to ensure seamless
event execution while maintaining strict quality, sanitation, and presentation standards.
This position reports directly to the Director of Culinary.

Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and cook food for banquet functions, receptions, weddings, and large-scale events (250 guests+).
· Execute high-volume food production while maintaining exceptional quality and consistency.
· Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
· Assist with banquet plating, buffet preparation, and service execution.
· Monitor banquet production timelines to ensure food is delivered promptly for events.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
· Follow proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures.
· Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
· Support the kitchen team during high-volume events and peak service periods.
· Maintain organization of walk-in coolers, freezers, and kitchen storage areas.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 10 years of professional culinary experience with banquet or high-volume production.
· Experience in private clubs, hotels, resorts, catering operations, or fine dining banquet environments preferred.
· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
· Ability to execute large-scale banquet events with attention to detail and presentation.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
· Culinary school training or apprenticeship preferred.
· Food safety certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, reach, and lift items up to 50 pounds.
The position requires working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment and performing repetitive tasks
associated with banquet food production.
