About the Role

  JOB SUMMARY

The President of Sitnasuak Native Corporation Global Commercial Group, LLC (SNCGC) is the principal executive vested with management and control of the daily operations and affairs of SNCGC. The SNGCC President reports to the Sitnasuak Native Corporation (“SNC”) Chief Operating Officer. The SNCGC President formulates and executes short- and long-term commercial strategies aligned with strategic guidance provided by the COO. The SNCGC President recommends policy, develops and implements administrative procedures, and controls subsidiary-wide infrastructure and activities for the business. This position will work in either Anchorage, Alaska or Nome, Alaska.


Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities:

Operations (Program, Product and Service Delivery) – 

  • Oversee and perform operations management of commercial business lines in various geographical locations including remote facilities and commercial real estate.
  • Collaborate with COO and others on existing government contracts and business. 
  • Manage SNCGC commercial property located outside of Nome, including sales, leases, subleases and marketing efforts.
  • Measure effectiveness and efficiency of operational internal processes and find ways to improve.
  • Responsible for driving SNCGC to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, business goals and objectives as established by the COO.
  • Serve as primary or secondary point of contact and liaison between SNCGC and clients for continued business.
  • Perform and maintain marketing efforts including participating in aspects of sales and business development.
  • Identify and participate in corporate expansion activities including commercial investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.
  • Oversee SNCGC bid and proposal functions.
  • Serve as primary or secondary point of contact in connection with SNCGC operations for regulatory and community governing bodies, including maintaining positive working relationships in the communities where SNCGC operates.
  • Maintain extensive professional network including participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • Recruit, lead, motivate, mentor and coach SNCGC operations team to develop a high performing organization.
  • Constantly evaluate and oversee daily operations, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Develop and implement sustainable growth strategies, annual operating plans and procedures for SNCGC, ensuring alignment with COO expectations and goals.
  • Work with staff to prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures; analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, including the preparation and completion of action plans and performing internal audits, at the direction of the COO.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will supervise various positions under SNCGC.  As a executive level position within SNC Global Solutions, this position will be responsible and accountable for driving specific goals and initiatives, strategic planning, budgeting, personnel management, and reporting of the departments he/she oversees. This position is responsible and accountable to others in the SNC Executive Team and SNC Global Solutions. This position is also responsible and accountable to manage vendors and contracts that are associated with this position.

Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas business sector.
  • Extensive experience and excellent reputation in commercial business markets and governing bodies in Alaska.
  • Demonstrated record of successfully managing P&Ls with revenue in excess of $100M.
  • Extensive experience in bids and proposals submission including formulation of pricing.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple operations and businesses.
  • Must be a strong and agile leader with proven ability to work effectively across functional groups of the organization.
  • Understanding and experience working with a corporate structure, board of directors and federal and state governing bodies.
  • Ability to travel as needed. 
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass credit and background screening.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common executive correspondence, contracts, financial reports and regulatory compliance documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write and conform to prescribed style and format for executive level communication tasks.
  • Ability to create and edit high quality written deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups and the Company Board of Directors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and facilitate problem resolutions.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investments in people and systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of best business, sales, and marketing practices related to the Company’s industries.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling, revenue forecasting, strategic management, marketing/business development, project management and ability to perform related tasks.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a team and exercise competent change management skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of drafting business agreements and accurately determining profit margins.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with others.
  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate information to others (at times in front of or in group settings).
  • Strong customer service skills, including resourcefulness, prompt service, and follow-up.
