Human Resources Coordinator

Description
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources department. This role assists with maintaining employee records, supporting HR processes, and ensuring accurate documentation related to employment and benefits. The Human Resources Coordinator helps ensure HR operations run smoothly while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Reports to Director of Human Resources.
Requirements
20% Maintain all personnel files, including but not limited to required documentation and benefits information, per state and federal regulations. Cross-check and update all personnel information and enrollments with vendors. Track all internal and external deadlines closely.
20% Assist with onboarding processes by preparing new hire paperwork and processing employee forms and documentation, including policy acknowledgements, benefit enrollment forms, and payroll-related documents.
15% Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs, including but not limited to benefits and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
15% Complete and track all guidelines related to leave, including but not limited to Family Medical Leave Act documentation, vacation tracking, and sick leave.
10% Assist with scheduling interviews, meetings, and employee training sessions.
10% Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment retention laws and regulations and best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
5% Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications.
5% Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- One to two years of similar or related experience required, including time spent in previous positions
- Knowledge of employment laws preferred, including but not limited to the following: FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, FLSA, and other federal, state, and local laws
- Exemplary problem-solving skills; ability to apply critical thinking and make independent decisions
Education
- High school degree or equivalent required
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school is preferred
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to listen and understand staff concerns and assist at all levels as needed
