Defense Holdings, Inc. (DHi) is a veteran owned small business that designs, produces, and installs photo luminescent (glow in the dark) safety and low level emergency egress products, exit signage and systems. These products require no external power source, are simple to install, are long lasting and require no maintenance. The technology will identify emergency egress routes, inclusive of hallways, door ways, and stairwells for buildings in case of loss of light or within smoky conditions. The products conform to, and are recommended, within current fire and building codes. In addition to the emergency egress products, DHi also produces photo luminescent marking products that can be applied within commercial and factory environments to mark pathways and equipment in case of power failures or smoky conditions to assist visibility of equipment and other obstructions during those conditions. Photoluminescent products are also available to use within ships, boats and within aircraft. Defense Holdings, Inc. also designs and manufactures a patented, metal fiber contact brush technology used as a replacement for current carbon graphite and silver graphite contact brushes within electrical motors, generators and slip ring applications.

Position Summary

Defense Holdings, Inc. (DHi) is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to manage and maintain IT infrastructure and systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing servers, networks, and databases while ensuring system security and availability.

This role requires expertise in IT systems management, a proactive approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to support multiple stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Management & Maintenance

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and networks.
  • Ensure that all systems are running optimally, including monitoring server performance and applying necessary updates.
  • Perform regular backups, disaster recovery testing, and system optimizations.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect the organization’s data and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices.
  • Conduct routine security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to staff and resolve system-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with IT project planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in systems administration or IT support.
  • Proficiency in server administration, network management, and IT security protocols.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
  • Experience in government contracting or defense-related IT systems.

Work Environment
