Automotive Paint Artists begin the day by preparing surfaces to ensure a flawless finish.

✔ Masking and preparing components for spray finishes
✔ Reviewing color samples and design specifications
✔ Preparing spray equipment and materials
Preparation is key to achieving the high-quality finishes required for specialty projects.
Applying Specialty Finishes
During the day, Automotive Paint Artists apply precision paint techniques to a variety of custom elements.
This may include:
✔ Applying automotive-grade finishes and coatings
✔ Creating smooth, high-gloss surfaces and specialty finishes
✔ Color matching and layering coatings for durability and appearance
✔ Working with fabrication teams to ensure proper fit and finish
Because many projects involve custom shapes and unique structures, this role requires both technical skill and creative thinking.
Refining and Polishing
Later in the day, the focus shifts toward perfecting the finish.
Automotive Paint Artists may:
✔ Inspect surfaces for consistency and quality
✔ Buff, polish, or refine finishes
✔ Apply protective coatings or specialty effects
✔ Prepare finished components for installation
