Human Resources Generalist

Location: Dalton, GA

At Exploring & Companies, our Human Resources team plays a critical role in supporting employees, maintaining compliance, and ensuring that HR operations run smoothly across the organization.

This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who understands the full scope of Human Resources operations and can work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is not an entry-level HR position. The right candidate must already have a strong working knowledge of HR processes, compliance, and systems and be able to manage responsibilities without extensive training.

Managing HR Operations

The day typically begins by reviewing HR priorities and ensuring that key processes are running smoothly.

Daily responsibilities may include:

✔ Reviewing employee records and ensuring accurate HR documentation and filing
✔ Managing data entry and employee record updates in HR systems
✔ Responding to employee and manager questions regarding HR policies and procedures
✔ Processing onboarding documentation for new hires

Strong organization and attention to detail are essential to ensure employee records and systems remain accurate and compliant.

Recruiting and Onboarding

A significant part of the role involves supporting recruiting and onboarding efforts.

This may include:

✔ Coordinating job postings and reviewing candidates
✔ Scheduling interviews and communicating with hiring managers
✔ Preparing and processing new hire onboarding documentation
✔ Ensuring all required HR paperwork and system entries are completed accurately

The HR Generalist helps ensure new employees begin their roles with a smooth and organized onboarding experience.

Benefits and Compliance Administration

As the day continues, the focus often shifts to benefits administration and compliance support.

Responsibilities may include:

✔ Supporting employees with questions related to benefits enrollment and eligibility
✔ Managing benefits documentation and assisting with benefit processing and audits
✔ Maintaining records for 401(k) enrollment and contributions
✔ Ensuring employee files and HR systems remain compliant with company policies and regulations

Experience with benefits administration and HR audits is essential for success in this role.

Keeping HR Systems Organized

Before wrapping up the day, the HR Generalist ensures that all HR tasks and documentation are up to date.

This may include:

✔ Updating HR systems and employee files
✔ Reviewing recruiting activity and onboarding progress
✔ Preparing HR documentation and reports as needed

Organization and follow-through ensure the HR function continues to support employees effectively.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Human Resources and experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Required experience includes:

✔ Complete working knowledge of Human Resources processes and procedures
✔ Experience supporting HR in a manufacturing or production environment
✔ Ability to work independently and manage multiple HR responsibilities
✔ Experience with recruiting, employee records management, and onboarding
✔ Strong data entry and filing accuracy

Technical experience required:

✔ Working knowledge of ADP HR systems
✔ Experience with benefits administration and audits
✔ Knowledge of 401(k) processing and employee benefit programs

Strong candidates also demonstrate:

✔ Excellent organization and attention to detail
✔ Strong communication skills
✔ Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
✔ Confidence managing HR responsibilities independently
