Position Summary

In Trinidad, you'll dedicate your efforts to vital environmental stewardship, including trail maintenance, invasive species removal, pollinator garden upkeep, and interpretive programs with the picturesque Trinidad Lake backdrop. Beyond your important work, Trinidad serves as a gateway to unparalleled outdoor adventures, from hiking and biking the trails around town and in our two state parks, to fishing and boating 3 well-stocked lakes or the Purgatoire River that runs through town. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Invasive plant species control
- Making boundary fence wildlife-friendly
- Fence removal and repair
- Pollinator garden upkeep
- Trail maintenance
Marginal Duties
- Sign inventory and maintenance
- Water safety programs
- Special events such as fishing days and parades
- Interpretive tours/presentations
- Accompanying rangers with vehicle and boat patrols
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors daily in high temperatures, low humidity semi-arid environment at 6500'
- 18 Years or older
Preferred Qualifications
- Drivers license and ability to complete online government Defensive Driving Course
Hours
40 per week
Living Accommodations
Selected candidates must find their own accommodations but an $800 monthly housing allowance is provided
Compensation
- $375/week Living Allowance
- $75/week Commuting Allowance
- $800/month Housing Allowance (4 total)
- NTE $650 Reimbursable relocation travel if not local
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
