Our Workplace Technology team is building a best‑in‑class Tech Bar experience for our National Office.  We’re looking for an Associate Engineer who loves helping people, enjoys solving everyday tech problems, and thrives in a face‑to‑face support environment.

 

This is an in‑office role where you’ll be the first touchpoint for workplace technology support; greeting team members at the Tech Bar, understanding their issue, and helping them get back up and running quickly.  It’s a great opportunity for someone with a background in technical support who wants to take the next step into Workplace Tech, gain exposure to modern enterprise technology, and build the foundation for a future engineering career.


What you’ll be doing

 

  • Manning the Tech Bar and providing friendly, in‑person support to Kmart and Target team members.
  • Helping with a mixture of hardware and software related issues, ranging from troubleshooting laptops, related peripherals and applications, mobile devices, printing, connectivity issues, account access and other platforms managed by Workplace Technology.
  • Working through tickets related to workplace services and ensuring every interaction is fast, helpful, and customer‑centric.
  • Supporting team members with everyday tech challenges and creating an experience that feels welcoming, professional, and easy.
  • Collaborating with Engineers and Senior Engineers to learn the workplace tech stack, shadow more complex work, and grow your technical capability.
  • Assisting with device setups, small deployments, configuration tasks, and general workplace tech operations.
  • Playing a key role in shaping the Tech Bar experience and building a culture of exceptional customer service.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • Previous experience in IT support, service desk, or workplace technology, with a strong interest in growing your technical skills.
  • A people‑first mindset, you enjoy helping others, building rapport, and creating a positive experience.
  • Confidence communicating face‑to‑face, asking good questions, and guiding someone through a solution.
  • A basic grounding in workplace tech, including hardware troubleshooting, Office 365, device setup, and common workplace tools.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to manage multiple requests, stay calm under pressure, and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
  • A proactive, customer‑focussed attitude and a desire to be part of a supportive, team‑driven culture.
