Job Description
FNB is currently recruiting for a CEO for FNB Life. The role is responsible to lead and deliver sustainable business performance and value to achieve our goal of being the top Life Insurer. The role holder will be required to align with FNB’s overall business model and strategy collaborating towards organisation wide strategy formulation and enabling integration, change and adoption.- Define and deliver on the shareholder value proposition through leading the implementation of profitable business strategy
- Drive shareholder value through profitable and integrated frameworks, guidelines and optimisation plans
- Lead delivery of organisational budgetary structures aimed at driving sustainability and creating the context for future success
- Influence and provide direction that leads to the sustainability of a culture that builds positive relationships and encourages customer centricity.
- Define and develop integrated sales strategies for different customer segments
- Define and drive sales penetration strategies across applicable products, services, and customer segments
- Develop an organisational business model and strategy to future-proof the business
- Drive the development and implementation of integrated corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks throughout the business
- Ensure strategic design and adoption of integrated risk management, governance and compliance frameworks to create a risk management culture and position risk as an enabler in the organisation
- Demonstrate leadership by providing strategic direction, fostering high ethical standards in meeting franchise vision and goals, and design and implement strategies that maximise employee potential
- Encourage, establish and maintain strategic relationships across multiple functional areas to enable collaboration and knowledge sharing across functions
- Leads and directs the performance of the executive team
- Representation in various management committee, board, and board meetings in FirstRand.
Qualification and Experience:
- Actuarial degree preferred.
- 10 years related experience in a similar environment, of which 5 to 7 years ideally at senior specialist and or executive level
- Long-term insurance experience and knowledge (advantageous)
- Solid experience in leading a large multi-faceted team, preferably in a financial services organisation.
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in a complex and heterogeneous environment, with tried and tested ability to manage and lead diverse, multidisciplinary and high-performance teams.
- Must meet fit and proper requirements as stipulated under the Long-Term Insurance Act.
You are ideal for this role if you are energetic, self-motivated, driven to succeed, self-disciplined, customer service orientated and are able to execute well. You have the ability to influence and build relationships with the various stakeholders within the Group and have tolerance of ambiguity. You have a sound knowledge of the financial services and insurance industry.
