About the Role

*Important: This position focuses on quality assurance and regulatory compliance within human services programs supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It is not a software or manufacturing quality assurance role.*

Job Description

What You'll Do:

The Program Quality & Compliance Specialist supports quality assurance and quality improvement efforts across residential and program services supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This role works closely with operational leadership to ensure programs meet regulatory requirements, internal standards, and person-centered service expectations.

You will serve as a technical expert for electronic documentation systems such as Therap, while conducting documentation reviews, program site visits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate program quality to ensure compliance with licensing standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Conduct Electronic Health Record (EHR) and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance

  • Serve as a technical resource for documentation systems such as Therap

  • Participate in program reviews, site visits, and licensing preparation

  • Identify quality trends and areas for improvement through data analysis and documentation audits

  • Partner with operational leaders to develop and monitor corrective action plans and quality improvement initiatives

  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance activities, findings, and follow-up actions

  • Assist with development and maintenance of quality assurance tools, tracking systems, and processes

  • Provide training and guidance to staff on documentation standards and compliance expectations

  • Support development and implementation of policies and procedures related to program quality

  • Promote a collaborative, solution-focused approach to quality improvement across programs

Qualifications

Required (Must-Have): 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, interpret, and report on complex data 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly 

  • Strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Electronic Health Record systems 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer 

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing, reviewing records, and data entry 

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred 

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to IDD supports, including HIPAA, licensing, and person-centered practices 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
