Job Summary

The Interstate Batteries Store Assistant Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the retail store. Managing inventory, ensuring exceptional customer service, and achieving sales and profitability targets. The assistant store manager will report to the Retail Stores Manager.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides ongoing customer service by addressing all questions or concerns regarding accounts, products, and services, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Performs controlling inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily records of transactions.
  • Conducts regular meetings with management to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated.
  • Understands and utilizes systems and processes with multiple computer programs including Point of Sales system.
  • Manually or mechanically transports materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Retrieves merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations, as well as place special orders.
  • Occasionally loads vehicle for delivery and drives a vehicle to deliver items to customer.
  • Occasionally fabricates customer batteries and power supplies from stock components.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Performance Measurements:

  • A score card that reflects achievement of monthly or quarterly sales targets, comparing actual sales to set goals.
  • Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness & ability to learn new skills and information. Other key metrics prescribed by Concentric Finance & Accounting leadership, resulting in positive customer and Company impact.
  • Other key performance indicators as assigned.



Requirements

  • High School or GED Diploma required. Prefer an associate degree from an approved two-year college or university or very strong equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a retail customer service environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices.
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
  • Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
  • Capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently with a sense of urgency.
