JOB PURPOSE:

The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to patrons, oversee the stock of liquor and bar supplies, and collect money for drinks served.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive orders from patrons or waitstaff.
  • Prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
  • Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
  • Maintain bar spaces and keep them clean and organized.
  • Attractively display glasses, liquor, and other bar items so its pleasing for guests to look at.
  • Collect payments from guest for drinks prepared and served.
  • Ensure that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo ID’s.
  • Utilize proper judgment and discretion, when necessary, refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.

All Other Duties as Assigned 


 

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation and service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and presentation skills with focus on serving customers.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
  • Ability to learn Point of Sales systems and software.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: .  

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.  
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.  
  • Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older to serve alcoholic drinks.
