Bass Cat Boats is the premier fiberglass bass boat manufacturer located in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The company was founded by the Pierce family in 1971. In 2011 Yar-Craft joined the Bass Cat family with the Pierce’s acquiring the line from the Suthers family and extending that tradition, started by Jack Dallman in 1969. Bass Cat Boats still carries on the family tradition with Rick Pierce as President, under the parent company Correct Craft (2015) with over 90 years of manufacturing boats.
About the Role

Description

Job Purpose:


We are looking for hardworking individuals to apply to grind edges off de-molded parts and inside of hulls. Cuts and drills necessary holes in hulls and decks. Inspects all boats after production to ensure that all parts are complete and up to quality standards. Performs all assembly and disassembly. Our Yar-Craft team assembles everything in their own building, from boxing to finish, Yar-Craft does it all.


Job Details:

  • This is a first shift position, and the hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • Starting pay for this position is $14.40/hour
  • All positions are safety sensitive. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by an employer, in which a person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana may constitute a threat to health or safety.

Qualified candidates will be asked to submit to drug testing.

Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be able to identify read orders and identify missing or defective parts and be able to replace when necessary if production is not available
  • Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools including screw gun, drill, etc.
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Follow instruction of Supervisor/foreman/lead

Wiring Area

  • Be able to cut all holes to run wires/panels/graphs
  • Install premade harnesses
  • Install lights/switches/dashes/graphs
  • Build consoles and install
  • Wire bow section
  • Clean at end of day

Tank Area

  • Cut boat out
  • Install pumps/tanks/plumbing/wiring back end/jack plates/battery charger/battery boxes
  • Clean at end of day

Wiring Harness Area

  • Lay out/build wiring harness/blocks/graph harness/trolling motor harnesses
  • Very technical/intricate – ability to have strong attention to detail/instructions

Carpet Area

  • Be able to install carpet according to order using strong adhesive glue.
  • Be able to install carpet in both boats and lids

Lids Area

  • Install locks/hinges on lids/shocks
  • Mount all lids/finish components/rod box organizers/rod straps and buckles

Mounting Area

  • Install trolling motors/flush mounts/seats
  • Install rub rail/silicone/end caps

Boxing Area

  • Be able to grind all de-molded parts properly (hulls, decks, small parts).
  • Be able to lift deck parts with the help of other employees and move to cut & gear area.
  • Be able to drill foam chambers/foam them/skip grind/sand areas foamed.
  • Be able to lift/set rail/hull together/glass/sand all areas/paint where needed.
  • Wipe down, clean, and inspect before sending boat to Finish Department.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Follow instruction of Supervisor/foreman/lead
  • Must be able to wear safety glasses and hearing protection.

Perform other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to use small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, diamond cutter, hole saws, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of interior of boats
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment to include respirator when necessary.
  • Must be able to work in fiberglass (dust/handling fiberglass items/etc.)
  • Must be able to handle chemicals (catalyst/resin/foam)
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary to move deck pieces around in the department.
  • This is a safety sensitive position
