Join our Legacy
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Tracy Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the manufacturing facility. This role oversees plant operations including production and maintenance. The Plant Manager ensures operational excellence, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of production targets while fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture.
Your Contribution to Excellence
- Manage plant operations for fruit receiving, storage and processing, production and maintenance.
- Develop pack plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure products conform to established customer and company quality standards. Review daily and weekly production plans to ensure maximum utilization of resources, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Establish operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery.
- Lead continuous improvement process transformation using both Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Responsible for meeting Operations budgets to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Build, develop, and manage operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations and strategies.
- Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability.
- Direct and monitor subordinate department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing and customer service plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Initiate and assist with the coordination of major projects (i.e., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
- Ensure that the Company complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, safety management and accident investigation, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Immediately report all food safety and food quality problems to your supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the Production Manager, Facilities/Maintenance Manager, and Plant Engineer.
What you Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
- 15+ years experience in a food processing operation or related industry required
- Experience leading continuous improvement process transformation
- Understanding of production operations, labor management, and manufacturing workflows
- Knowledge of safety regulations, GMPs, and food safety practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

This position is an on-site position, performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places. The employee is exposed to both cold and hot temperatures related to the normal outside weather conditions, and to wet/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
