Job Purpose
Resource Central’s Lawn Replacement program partners with dozens of Colorado municipalities and water providers to empower communities to live more sustainably through waterwise landscaping options. Conservation Crew members will play an essential role in completing lawn removal projects across the Front Range. This role is ideal for individuals looking to make a meaningful contribution to water conservation efforts and gain valuable experience in the sustainability industry. This is a full-time, field-based leadership position with daily travel throughout the Front Range. Crew members can generally expect an average of 32–40 hours per week, and part-time opportunities may be available depending on program needs. Compensation is $20.00/hour, with opportunities to earn bonuses based on exceptional performance as well as applicable mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, paid training, and accrued paid sick leave. The position starts May 11, 2026 and is expected to last through September, 2026; with earlier end dates available. Key Responsibilities

The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Help people save water by working collaboratively in small teams to complete lawn and sod removal projects program participants. 
  • Safely operate sod cutters and hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and picks. Safely lift and move sections of sod into trailers to dispose of at partnered facilities; training provided.
  • Travel throughout the Front Range with a crew in company vehicles. Optional opportunities available to travel to other cities for projects that require extended travel or overnight stays; with mileage, travel pay, and accommodations provided.
  • Assist Crew Lead with daily tasks to ensure project goals are met. 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assist with other Resource Central programs as assigned based on available opportunities or department demand.
  • Foster Inclusion to help build a strong sense of belonging by ensuring everyone feels welcomed, valued, and included at Resource Central.

Qualifications 

  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude while working both independently and collaboratively in a team is required.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve in the field and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, daily access to a reliable automobile, and a smartphone are required.
  • Ability to safely perform field work that may include lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing wheelbarrows, and performing tasks that involve squatting, kneeling, or bending.
  • Ability to safely work outdoors in all kinds of weather including high temperatures and rain required. 
  • Must pass and maintain an acceptable background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.
  • Basic familiarity with smartphone and applications including Google Calendar, Slack, and Paylocity; used for communication, scheduling, and program activities.
  • Experience in fieldwork, landscaping, construction, or sustainability is strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
