Leisure Hotels is a privately owned hotel group with a variety of hotels located in Cape Town. Our hotels provide accommodation for all types of travellers, including tourists, tour groups and corporate guests. The Strand Tower Hotel: Our newest establishment is a Four Star luxury hotel, opening its doors to the public in May. Centrally located on the corner of Strand and Loop Street, the hotel features luxury bedrooms, a restaurant, pool and sun-deck, a sauna/steam bath, seven conference rooms, and enviable views of Table Mountain. The Fountains Hotel and Suites: The Fountains Hotel provides guests with Three Star accommodation in the heart of the CBD of Cape Town. Features include a conference centre, gym, splash pool, sauna, restaurant and bar, and many major attractions in Cape Town are within walking distance. The Fountains also features Four Star self catering suites including various one bedroom, two bedroom and penthouse suites. The Lady Hamilton Hotel: Located in the central suburb of Gardens behind the Mount Nelson Hotel, the Lady Hamilton Hotel provides accommodation and conferencing in a quieter part of town. The outside pool is exquisite and sheltered from wind from all sides. The friendly staff welcomes travellers visiting Cape Town for business or pleasure to the Lady Hamilton. The hotel is a short walk from many historic museums, art galleries and the trendy bustle of Kloof Street. The Tulip Hotel and Conference Centre: The Tulip is a Two Star hotel with conferencing facilities on the corner of Strand and Bree Street. Accommodation is comfortable and affordable, and affords guests the chance to explore Cape Town and surrounding attractions such as the Waterfront with ease. This central hotel regularly welcomes all families, tour groups and business travellers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • · Welcome guests and ensure a positive experience by greeting, seating, and addressing requests.
  • · Rock that uniform and keep your workspace sparkling clean—because nobody likes a messy castle!
  • · Be ready to work any time—even on holidays, because the party never stops for our food & beverage heroes!
  • · Show off your host superpowers: pour drinks with flair, juggle reservations, and make sure the dining room looks so good it could star in a movie.
  • · Set up and clean event rooms as needed.
  • · Answer the restaurant phone and follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • · Take on whatever adventures the day brings—because no two shifts are ever the same!


EDUCATION

Basic reading, writing and math. Ability to read, speak, write and understand the primary language of the workplace.


EXPERIENCE

Previous Guest Service experience in a hotel or commercial building preferred but will train the right person. Customer service and interpersonal skills.


REQUIREMENTS 

Must meet legal age requirements of the state.


Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds (including trays, supplies, or equipment)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, and humidity
  • Ability to navigate stairs, docks, patios, pool decks, and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-noise environment with frequent interruptions
  • Visual and auditory ability to observe guests, staff, and service areas
