About the Role

Job Description

AEC+Specialty Care Moorabbin is looking for an ECC vet to join our emergency and critical care team as we continue our work in a brand new, purpose-built hospital in Melbourne’s south-east.

AEC has a long history of providing trusted ECC care to the local veterinary community. While our facility is new, our emergency service is not — we’re continuing and building on years of experience, strong referral relationships and a reputation for high-quality, reliable care.

We are a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, providing ECC alongside specialty surgery service led by Dr Charles Kuntz and Dr Malcolm Jack. Emergency clinicians, nurses and surgeons work closely together, with genuine collaboration on complex cases and clear, supportive handovers.

Our new Moorabbin hospital has been custom-designed for ECC and referral patients, with 8 modern consult rooms, 3 advanced surgical theatres, a dedicated Critical Care Unit, and separate dog and cat wards to support efficient workflows, patient comfort and high standards of care.

We offer a structured induction, ensuring you’re well supported as you transition into the role, whether you’re new to ECC or already experienced.

What you can expect

  • Full-time or part-time opportunity
  • Shifts across a mix of day, night and weekend work
  • A long-standing, well-regarded ECC service operating from a brand new hospital
  • Specialist surgical support
  • Structured induction and ongoing clinical support
  • Strong internal continuing education program
  • Access to the annual Greencross Veterinary Symposium Conference
  • Collaborative case management across ECC, nursing and surgery
  • Competitive remuneration, with penalties for afterhours work
  • Fair rostering that recognises life outside work

What we’re looking for

  • A veterinarian with ECC experience or a strong interest in emergency medicine
  • Someone who communicates clearly and calmly with clients and colleagues
  • A team player who values kindness, accountability and good medicine

If you’d like to learn more, see the hospital, or have an informal chat about whether this role is the right fit, we’d love to hear from you.
