About the Role

Description

Maintenance Technician

Trellis Mgmt is hiring talented and reliable Part-time Maintenance Technicians to join our property management team in the Twin Cities area. The primary responsibility is to sustain the housing we manage to provide clean, well-maintained, and well-managed housing for the residents we serve. Your duties include all aspects of apartment maintenance, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory, and adhering to preventative maintenance procedures. Our ideal candidate will have basic maintenance, plumbing, and appliance knowledge, and some of their own tools; boiler experience a plus but will train. Basic maintenance experience - wall repairs a plus and this is a supportive housing property.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  •  Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
  •  Adhere to preventative maintenance procedures.
  •  Manage boilers/furnaces and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
  •  Plan and schedule repairs.
  •  Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
  •  Perform general maintenance tasks including buildings, grounds, snow removal and landscaping.
  •  Adhere to maintenance department budget.
  •  Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Maintenance Technician Requirements:

  •  Part-time-20 hrs/week (M-F 4 hours per day)
  •  High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  •  Basic plumbing, mechanical systems and appliance experience.
  •  Boilers license a plus, will train to achieve license if needed.
  •  Thorough understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  •  Effective problem-solving capabilities.
  •  Good written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and reliable vehicle.
  •  Physically able to lift 50lbs as well as bend, squat, kneel, push, grip, grasp and work overhead for an extended period of time.

Education:

  •  High school or equivalent

Experience:

  •  Mechanical knowledge: 1 year
