QLI is seeking a Director of Development who can strengthen and evolve our fundraising efforts into a disciplined, sustainable philanthropy model.

This driven leader will cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners while shaping long-term stewardship, planned giving, endowments, and donor engagement.

Objectives and Job Tasks

  •  Positively contribute to the collaboration and effectiveness of QLI’s PR and Development team
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners
  • Develop and steward relationships with prospective and current donors through meaningful engagement and communication
  • Help design and implement QLI’s long-term philanthropic strategy
  • Lead efforts to strengthen donor stewardship and long-term donor engagement
  • Develop and expand initiatives related to planned giving and legacy giving
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for endowment support that sustain QLI’s Mission and programs
  • Assist in development and implementation of the PR and Development Strategic Plan
  • Create and deliver presentations to civic groups, businesses, foundations, and community partners
  • Represent QLI at community events and philanthropic engagement opportunities
  • Collaborate with the PR team to develop donor communications, presentations, and development materials
  • Maintain accurate and confidential donor records within the development CRM system
  • Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of donor prospects and philanthropic relationships
  • Supervise and collaborate with the Grants Coordinator to support institutional funding opportunities
  • Be constantly mindful of the public image of QLI and take proactive steps to strengthen it

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fundraising, development, relationship management, or philanthropic engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, or community partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire philanthropic support
  • Ability to represent QLI professionally within the community and build trusted partnerships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience cultivating and stewarding major donors
  • Experience helping develop or implement donor stewardship strategies
  • Experience supporting or managing planned giving or legacy giving initiatives
  • Experience working with philanthropic structures such as endowments or long-term giving programs
  • Experience helping design or grow sustainable fundraising models within an organization
  • Experience with CRM systems including Bloomerang development software
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent
