The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DNA Scientist to join our laboratory team. Reporting to the Laboratory Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of customer samples—from laboratory preparation and molecular analysis to data interpretation and reporting.
The DNA Scientist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of results while supporting laboratory operations, quality systems, and customer communication. This position requires strong technical expertise in microbiology and molecular biology, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Requirements
Where You Make a Difference
· Execute end-to-end sample processing, including microbial culture, DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, and data generation
· Analyze and interpret microbial and sequencing data; generate and verify accurate technical reports
· Manage sample workflows to meet customer expectations and turnaround times
· Maintain laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, equipment upkeep, and inventory monitoring
· Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, ISO 17025, and all quality system procedures
· Troubleshoot technical issues and support continuous process improvement and R&D activities
· Train team members and provide technical guidance across laboratory processes
· Support audits, documentation (SOPs), and validation activities
· Communicate effectively with customers regarding sample status and results
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support lab efficiency, resource planning, and overall operations
What You Bring
· Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline with 3+ years of laboratory experience
· Strong expertise in microbiology and molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing)
· Experience working in regulated environments (cGMP, GLP, ISO 17025)
· Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and relevant software systems
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
· Customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across teams
