About the Role

Description

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is a leading provider of skilled trade services throughout California, headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Our Southern California team is currently seeking an HVAC Service Technician to support our service department by performing maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial HVAC systems across the region.


This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position, with start times that may vary depending on the location and nature of service calls. Technicians are provided with a company vehicle, gas card, and the flexibility to begin their service routes from home.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience diagnosing and servicing a variety of commercial HVAC systems and will be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Job sites are located throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire, and regular travel within these areas is required.


Responsibilities

  • Provide informative customer service about HVAC system issues and recommended repairs
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system
  • Install new HVAC units within various environments
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
  • Complete emergency work orders
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used and recommended services
  • Drive and maintain work vehicles within company guidelines
  • Demonstrate safety procedures and protocols
  • Mentor apprentice HVAC Technicians on industry best practices
  • Additional duties and projects may be assigned to support the growth of the department

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent, directly related experience with commercial HVAC systems, including diagnostics, repair, and maintenance in a field service environment 
  • EPA certification required 
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to write reports and emails 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check 
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record (no more than two points) 
  • Willingness to commute to various job sites within Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire 
  • Ability to work in accordance with safety guidelines, Cal/OSHA regulations, and company policies
