The Brewery ...
This small town brewery started with a tiny 5 barrel brewing system but their brews were always big on flavor! Within a few years, their microbrews, made right on site with only the finest hops & malts, had gained such popularity that they expanded to a state of the art Newlands brew house with a capacity of 25 bbl brews.
Today, BrickStone is known not just for its delicious food, but also for its diverse selection of award-winning brews, included 2012 Great American Beer Festival Gold and 2012 World Beer Cup Bronze Medal winning BrickStone APA & 2013 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal winning Belgo APA.
Soon BrickStone will expand and open a Production Brewery with a fully automated 50 bl brew house with canning capabilities. Along with the award winning brews currently offered for distribution, BrickStone plans to add a blood orange hefeweizen, a robust porter, and many other unique specialties to our year round brews.
About the Role
Description
The Utility Worker is essential to keeping Brickstone Brewhouse’s kitchen running smoothly by maintaining cleanliness, supporting food preparation, and ensuring all equipment is in good working order. This role supports the entire kitchen team to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
- Food Prep Support:
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping, peeling, or portioning ingredients.
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed during service.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Monitor and report any issues with kitchen equipment to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
- Ensure proper storage and care of tools and supplies.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and chemical use.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment.
Physical Demands
- Frequently stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, or reaching.
- Ability to work in a high-heat, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant kitchen.
- Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment.
