About the Role:
The Customer Service / Fuel Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for customers at fuel stations. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional service by assisting customers with fueling their vehicles, processing payments, and addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards related to fuel handling. The attendant acts as the face of the company, fostering customer loyalty through friendly interactions and professional conduct. Ultimately, this position contributes to the smooth operation of the fuel station and enhances overall customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate fuel dispensing equipment safely and accurately.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and cleaning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or retail environments.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to fuel handling.
- Basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with fueling vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Operate fuel pumps and payment terminals accurately, handling cash and electronic transactions.
- Monitor fuel levels and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the fuel station, including the forecourt and convenience store areas if applicable.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations to prevent accidents and spills.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions, concerns, or complaints to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required, including cash reconciliation and securing the premises.
