As a Buyer I with PCB Piezotronics, Inc., you will procure goods and services as assigned by the Materials Manager by following all Purchasing procedures.. This would include clear supplier communications that includes PO requirements, PCB policies and resolution of all issues with internal/external customers. Has the authority to commit company funds for goods and services with approved PO requisitions
Additional Duties:
- Procures materials and services that conform to requirements of drawings / specifications, quality, delivery date and special customer requirements. This includes following up on late deliveries, PO lines without pricing and unacknowledged PO’s.
- Works with the Materials Manager in the following areas:
- Identify raw material cost reduction opportunities through sourcing and developing alternate suppliers. This activity will include administering the Supplier Self Survey (PD013).
- Maintenance of item master information of raw material items assigned that includes pricing levels and lead times.
- Identify raw materials that are single sourced / single manufacturing plant in order minimize the risk of continue supply.
- Courteously receives supplier representatives both scheduled and unscheduled that may provide the organization with new technologies or be a potential alternate supplier.
- Participates in the quarterly Supplier Rating process that includes calculating statistics, communicating the results and following up with suppliers having an unacceptable rating.
- Assists with reducing raw material lead times, purchase prices and inventories by utilizing blanket orders, VMI output along with other procurement techniques.
- Assists with identifying SBA minority suppliers in order to maintain PCB’s compliance as a GSA contractor.
- Performs material planning / scheduling utilizing planner’s workbench, production planning detail screens and VMI reports.
- Strives for good interpersonal relationships with all PCB associates.
- Where applicable, pursues additional education and training through company-sponsored programs.
- Conducts all business transactions in a professional manner while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or A.A.S. degree with relevant experience
Experience:
- One to three years of purchasing or planning experience in a related manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of BSD, MRP, ISO 9001, AS9100, ATEX
- Good analytical, computer, communication and negotiation skills.
