About the Role

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services & locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. Position Summary:

The OR Scheduler/Outpatient Unit Secretary serves to support and enhance the activities of Surgical Services. They will work daily with all members of the surgical care team and other hospital departments performing essential clerical duties to support daily operations. This individual must have excellent communication skills to meet our customer’s needs effectively and must maintain an organized work environment. 


Essential Functions:

  • Scheduling of any add on and/or emergency surgical procedures per our facility’s scheduling practice.
  • Working with surgical charts to oversee that they are complete and sent to medical records.
  • Keeping track and organization of any reporting of monthly performance improvements within the department.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, various departments and other healthcare team members.
  • Perform clerical duties related to sending faxes, making copies, working with physician’s offices and transcription.
  •  This position is the face of the department and will manage all incoming calls, vendor sign in, and direct any visitor traffic (eg. Students, maintenance staff, etc) 
  • Will take unit specific meeting minutes when instructed.
  • Maintain knowledge of job-related duties working within the hospital’s policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to meet our custom service goals to improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Treat and handle all patient information as confidential.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • Two years secretarial experience
  • Previous healthcare experience, medical terminology and computer skills strongly preferred


Pay Rate:

Pay ranges from $15.750/hour to $25.216/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)


Hours:

Monday- Friday 7a-330p
