Transwest is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead a skilled team of HR, Payroll, and Recruiting professionals and continue strong collaboration with all business leaders to support Transwest’s tactical and strategic initiatives. While an active leadership role, the Director is actively engaged in day-to-day team operations and is frequently called upon to provide hands-on support in all areas of HR operations.
The ideal candidate for the Transwest HR Director role has 10+ years in all areas of Human Resources, experience leading a team, a deep understanding of dealership operations, business acumen and keen collaboration skills to work with other leaders to implement talent solutions that support business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Human Resources, Payroll and Recruiting Departments.
- Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems.
- Perform and train others on effective resolution for: understaffing, refereeing disputes, terminations and administering disciplinary procedures.
- Supervise the maintenance of department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality.
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
- Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to recommend competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering offers and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals and absenteeism rates.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of personnel policies and practices.
- Represent the company in all Union employee labor relation activities.
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations, including but not limited to unemployment, EEOC, civil litigation and other related matters.
- Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
- Stay current on changes in employment law to ensure organization compliance with local, state, federal employment regulations.
- Oversee all safety programs, safety meetings, and safety training classes, as well as communication liability insurance issues for the company.
- Manage Colorado Cost Containment process and ensure completion.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
- Requires the ability to occasional travel to local business locations, during business hours, about 5-10% of the time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and benefits, labor relations .and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
- Administration - Know ledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules and the democratic political process.
- Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
- Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in time.
- Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
- Multi - task and work successfully in a fast-paced work environment. Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Exercise a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality and abide by all data protection policies.
- Superior communication skills in person, over the phone and through email and other electronic means.
- The ability to work with all levels of employees from executives to individual contributors. Experience with Paylocity or other HRIS systems.
- Ten+ years of human resources management experience required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other related field from an accredited institution required.
- PHR or SPHR preferred.
- Valid driver's license and good-standing MVR.
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
