About the role:
As an Account Executive in our Floorz studio, you’ll build strong client relationships and drive business growth through strategic, solutions-focused selling. The role includes developing and executing sales strategies, leading proposal efforts, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, from the initial conversation through final delivery.
This position offers the opportunity to influence high impact flooring projects while working closely with coordination, operations, and construction teams. Success in this role comes from aligning project outcomes with client goals and delivering thoughtful solutions, seamless execution, and measurable results.
What you’ll do:
- Build and nurture executive-level client relationships through proactive communication, industry events, and networking while serving as the primary point of contact throughout the client journey.
- Drive revenue growth by executing strategic sales plans, achieving individual sales goals, and generating new business through prospecting, referrals, networking, and cold calling.
- Qualify client needs, budgets, and timelines, then develop tailored solutions and prepare proposals, quotes, and project plans.
- Secure contracts by gathering accurate project pricing, developing qualified proposals, preparing contract award documentation, and confirming project scope.
- Promote the full range of products and services in Floorz while ensuring client satisfaction through project completion.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Floorz offerings, industry trends, materials, techniques, regulations, and standards while using market insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Estimating, Project Management, and Coordination, and partner with studio teams on co-selling opportunities to deliver integrated solutions.
- Leverage client contracts and cooperative purchasing agreements to streamline sales processes while supporting strategic initiatives.
- Ensure a smooth transition to operations teams by providing clear project handoff and ongoing support for successful execution and profitability.
Requirements
Who you are:
- 2+ years of sales experience in commercial flooring, interiors, construction, building materials, or related B2B environments; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities, with comfort prospecting and building pipeline through cold calling and networking.
- Strong communicator with genuine curiosity about client needs and a talent for building trust-based relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Confident negotiator able to secure favorable contract terms and pricing while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing complex projects across multiple teams, including timelines, budgets, scopes, and evolving client requirements.
- Strong analytical thinker with creative problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to project specifications, documentation, and proposal accuracy.
- Knowledgeable about the commercial design, interiors, and construction industry landscape, staying informed on trends and able to determine pricing and discounting strategies based on client and vendor considerations.
- Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business tools, with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes.
- Results-driven and self-motivated, thriving in fast-paced environments and consistently aiming to exceed sales targets through strategic planning and execution.
- Able to travel locally and regionally for client meetings and industry events, with flexibility to work outside standard business hours and access to a reliable remote work setup.
Work Environment:
This full-time position is based in Denver, CO and follows a hybrid work model. Team members are expected to be in the office 3 days per week to support collaboration, communication, and mentorship, while enjoying the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days. The role is both office-based and customer-facing, with time often split evenly between in-office responsibilities and external engagements. While the standard schedule is Monday through Friday, occasional work outside of these hours may be required.
Compensation:
$70,000 – $90,000 base salary, plus commission; total compensation varies based on performance
