Job Summary

Are you a Commercial HVAC Technician with a talent for troubleshooting and a hunger for the "tech" side of the industry? Do you excel with chillers, RTUs, and air handlers, but feel ready to master the world of Building Automation Systems (BAS)?

Unify Energy Solutions is seeking an early-to-mid-career, motivated technician to become our foundational presence in San Antonio. Because we are currently scaling our San Antonio operations, this role begins with a 3–6 month intensive training residency in Houston. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to plant long-term roots in San Antonio and lead our local projects as they come online.

The Training & Development Path

  • The Houston Residency: You will spend your first 3–6 months based in Houston to master BAS controls integration.
  • Flexible "Commuter" Schedule: During this training phase, we may offer a 4-10 schedule (four 10-hour days) to accommodate those traveling from San Antonio or who are not local to Houston.
  • San Antonio Field Rotations: You will transition to San Antonio for 1–2 weeks at a time to support site-specific operations.
  • The Long-Term Goal: Transition into a full-time, 40-hour on-site technician role in San Antonio as the market territory matures.

What You’ll Do

  • Mechanical & Controls Fusion: Perform start-up and troubleshooting on commercial HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers) while learning to integrate them with BAS.
  • Digital Integration: Develop expertise in BAS controls for VFDs, actuators, and dampers.
  • System Setup: Configure, download, and verify controller hardware and network addresses to ensure optimal performance.
  • Optimization: Execute sequence verification to maximize building energy efficiency.
  • Technical Communication: Facilitate BACnet integrations and provide clear updates to project managers and customers.

What We Offer

  • A Clear Career Pivot: An accelerated pathway from traditional HVAC to BAS Controls Expert.
  • Training Support: Paid, hands-on training on industry-leading BAS platforms and integration tools.
  • Competitive Compensation: Pay that recognizes your mechanical skill while you learn the digital side.
  • Full Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and Paid Time Off (PTO).
