General Purpose: In order to ensure quality dental services, the Dental Hygienist assists the Dentist in providing dental care to patients.


Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides dental care to patients.
  • Assesses patients' general dental condition and care needs. 
  • Conducts oral cancer screening exams and x-rays.
  • Offers practical suggestions to patients to ensure proper oral hygiene.
  • Performs routine oral hygiene maintenance procedures and applications for damage prevention. 
  • Works with dental staff to sterilize dental instruments and equipment. 
  • Collaborates with dental staff to evaluate patient medical chart information as it relates to dental.
  • Documents updated patient data on EMR system related to dental procedures.
  • Enters patient health data into the electronic medical records system (EMR) database.

Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
  • Participates in continuing education courses for most current dental industry information.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Certification or eligible for certification as a dental hygienist from an accredited dental school program.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a dental hygienist in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Required: Active BLS/CPR certification.

  • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work from procedure manuals.
  • Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDE’s diverse patient population.
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients.
  • Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patients, employees and business information.

Tools you’ll use

General dental instruments and equipment, x-ray technology, computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and the internet.


Working Environment and Physical Activities:

Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters data into computer programs via use of EMR database system, mouse and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Moves/transports objects up to 25lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making.

Work Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours/week; Monday–Friday with option of five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days. 


We offer a competitive salary range of $85,800 - $120,200 depending on your experience.

This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
