Job Description
We are seeking a medically qualified candidate for our role of Associate Professor in Clinical Education. In this role, the Associate Professor will be expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as playing a major leadership role in the teaching, assessment, course convenorship and curriculum development activities relevant to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. In addition, they will provide academic leadership to foster teaching innovations and excellence in scholarship, service and/or professional activities.
This teaching-focussed role includes direct contributions to the delivery of teaching and assessment in the MD program including in clinical skills, communication skills, ward-readiness skills and core skills for preparation for internship. It will also involve collaboration with academic and clinical colleagues across the campuses and sites at which the medical program is delivered to ensure a consistent, high-quality student learning experience.
This is a continuing, part-time (0.2 FTE / 20%) position based at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The Sunshine Coast site is located on the land of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary for an Academic Associate Professor (Level D) will range from $167,008 - $183,992 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will range from $195,400 - $215,271 per annum.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a medical degree from a recognised educational institution.
- Possess a PhD or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline, or evidence of progress towards completion; and / or a Professional Fellowship (e.g. FRACGP, FACRRM, FRACP).
- Hold current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a medical practitioner.
- Demonstrate expertise and experience as a clinical educator in clinical practice environment.
