Senior DevOps & SRE – AWS Cloud Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps & SRE AWS Cloud Engineer to support mission‑critical payment platforms for a leading financial services client. This is a hands‑on, operations‑focused role requiring strong expertise in AWS, DevOps automation, and Site Reliability Engineering within a high‑availability, 24×7 production environment.

You will be responsible for platform stability, incident response, automation, and continuous operational improvement while collaborating with globally distributed teams.
 

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Operations

• Provide hands‑on operational support in a 24×7 environment, with primary coverage aligning to EST business hours
• Manage incidents, problems, changes, and releases across production and non‑production environments
• Perform real‑time troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service recovery for critical platforms
• Ensure platform availability, performance, and reliability in line with SRE principles

Automation & Engineering

• Develop and maintain automation and scripts using Unix/Linux, databases, Terraform, and AWS services
• Implement and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and HashiCorp tools
• Support onboarding of new technologies, tools, and monitoring or anomaly‑detection platforms

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and SRE teams across US and international time zones
• Participate in release planning, post‑incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Operate effectively in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive production scenarios

Must‑Have Skills & Experience

• 7–8+ years of experience in DevOps and/or SRE roles (financial services experience preferred)
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, including:
  • RDS
  • PostgreSQL
  • Oracle
    (AWS certifications are a plus)
• Proven expertise with Terraform and the HashiCorp ecosystem
• Strong Unix/Linux skills and database scripting experience
• Solid experience in incident, change, and release management
• Willingness to work shift schedules, weekends, and on‑site from Bengaluru
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate calmly under pressure

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience with anomaly detection, observability platforms, or AI/ML integrations
• Exposure to Blockchain, FinTech, or large‑scale payment platforms
• Understanding of financial compliance, regulated systems, or high‑availability architectures
