BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will serve as the primary HR advisor to assigned divisions on organizational structure, employee classification, and HR policy interpretation (Ohio Revised Code, collective bargaining agreements, federal regulation); recommends solutions and implements changes.
You will lead recruitment and selection by posting vacancies (Taleo), screening and assessing applicants, coordinating testing with the Assessment Program Coordinator, advise on compensation and advanced step requests, extend offers, and defend screening decisions during mediation/arbitration as needed.
You will manage position planning and classification, develop and update position descriptions, determine FLSA overtime status, ensure class plan compliance, and support reorganization efforts and table of organization updates.
You will maintain HRIS data integrity and reporting, create and process Personnel Actions in OAKS HCM, upload documentation in OnBase, maintain tables of organization and OPERS ECS records, and generate BI reports (e.g., turnover, retirement projections, action/reason).
You will represent HR in employee relations forums by participating in meetings, hearings, and mediations for screening and non-selection grievances; share updates and best practices with HCM staff.
You will coordinate the BWC internship program by partnering with colleges and universities, posting announcements, screening and recommending candidates, facilitating onboarding, and attending career fairs.
To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate:
3 years experience in human resources.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration AND 12 months experience in human resources.
-Or 1 year experience as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
