Custodian/Maintenance Worker

We are looking for the right person to join our busy but friendly nonprofit! The Custodian / Maintenance Worker assists the Facilities Manager with maintaining the facility including sprinkler repair, plumbing, painting and more. This position is also responsible for cleaning windows, blowing off walkways, cleaning conference rooms and event rooms, restocking breakroom and bathroom supplies, and more. This position requires a detail-oriented person who has experience maintaining and cleaning office buildings. Must be able to work independently and manage time efficiently. Must be dog friendly! We are a pet friendly workplace with multiple dogs in the office daily. We are also a smoke free workplace.
This is a part-time, two days a week position during normal office hours. The employee may also be requested to come in after-hours or at other times.
Requirements
Responsibilities & Duties - include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the facilities manager with facilities maintenance, including sprinkler repair, painting, plumbing, and more.
- Clean exterior of building including cleaning windows and ledges, pressure washing walkways, cleaning exterior windows and ledges.
- Clean interior of building including cleaning windows and baseboards, disinfecting high-touch areas, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning floors, conference rooms and event rooms.
- Perform general custodial duties such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, spot cleaning restrooms.
- Sweep and vacuum mechanical rooms.
- Restock breakroom and bathroom supplies.
- Report any concerns of building or structural wear and/or equipment wear, defects, or malfunctioning.
- Other facilities maintenance and/or cleaning duties as requested.
Requirements
· Experience with painting, sprinkler repair, and/or plumbing preferred
· Minimum 1 year facilities maintenance experience required
· Able to perform physical work as is a primary part (more than 80%) of the job
· Able to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures, including procedures for the use of power equipment and chemical cleaners to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
· Able use hand and power tools acceptable to trade, including climbing a ladder
· Able to lift and manipulate heavy objects of up to 50 to 75 pounds
· Able to understand written and verbal instructions
· Must be pet friendly! We have multiple dogs in the office daily
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position works in a professional, pet-friendly office setting with shared spaces and high-traffic common areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an hourly part-time position working 2 days per week (approximately 16 hours per week). Typical hours are between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm, but the employee may be requested to come in after hours, on weekends, or at other times for special events.

Education & Other Requirements
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
· At least 1 year of facilities maintenance experience preferred
· At least 1 year of office cleaning experience preferred
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test
