JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager is responsible monitors workplace activities to promote and ensure employee compliance with applicable safety regulations. Facilitates all safety and emergency policies and procedures. Assures adherence to state statutes and rules, CARF standards, and federal regulations including HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2. Positively represents the organization and promotes Rimrock’s Mission to the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safety Duties
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and potential health concerns.
- Reviews and conducts employee training on required safety standards and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates. (Naloxone, De-escalation, Intruder Training, Etc.)
- Coordinates CPR training and skills assessments with external organizations.
- Manages and maintains documentation for ongoing safety training requirements for all staff and facilities.
- Conducts safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with applicable safety regulations.
- Conducts Safety Meeting regularly and maintains the meeting minutes.
- Prepares quarterly and annual reports.
- Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
- Maintains Rimrock’s Emergency Guide and educates staff on preparedness and any changes.
- Analyzes organizational needs for initial and ongoing safety training.
- Acts as a liaison with Supervisors to determine departmental safety training needs, and scheduling training sessions.
- Reviews, re-routes and approves all Incident Reports regularly to identify trends and training opportunities and pro-actively addresses any trends that may be identified.
- Provides documentation on all safety related incidents, training and inspections to meet CARF/State standards.
- Holds incident debriefing meetings as needed.
- Responsible for drill schedule, ensuring one drill occurs per topic, per shift, per quarter to maintain organizational compliance.
- Creating, maintaining and organizing all drill documentation.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Assures that claims for injuries are properly reported and documented in a timely, accurate and complete manner for First Report and Workers Compensation Compliance
- Completion of the annual OSHA 300 report.
- Creates, updates, and assigns updated safety content in Paylocity in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
- Responsible for the collection and safe keeping of client valuables.
- Oversight of client luggage search process to limit the amount of contraband in the facility.
- Oversees the facility security protocols and building access systems.
- Responds to escalated situations within the organization and provides de-escalation strategies to resolve the situation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. 2 years of direct experience in a professional safety position is preferred. Health and safety certification preferred. Prior management experience is required. Current CPR and First Aid training.
SKILLS:
- Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Extensive knowledge of CARF certification and Administrative Rules of Montana.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and confidence to create and conduct training to various groups.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors with moderate noise.
- Ability to travel throughout facility to conduct safety inspections.
- Typical workdays include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Walking, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, bending, talking, hearing approximately 70% of the time. Approximately 30% or less of the time sitting.
- Normal vision abilities required, including close vision and the ability to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB LOCATIONS: Involves everyday risk or discomfort requiring normal safety precautions in an office setting, meeting room and patient care areas. Work may involve mental and emotional stress. Driving required. Will work in main facility and off-site facilities.
