Backend Tech Lead

We’re looking for a Backend Tech Lead to lead and join our backend engineering team. As a Backend Tech Lead, you are a technical leader who balances high-level systems design with hands-on execution. You aren't just assigned tasks, you identify the most challenging technical bottlenecks within your domain and lead the effort to solve them. You will work across related teams to ensure architectural consistency, distributed systems while maintaining a high bar for code quality and operational excellence.

You will…

• While you spend a significant portion of your time coding and reviewing critical pull requests, your greatest impact comes from leveling up the engineers around you.
• Own the design and development of production-grade APIs and infrastructure powering our document platform
• Architect and implement scalable microservices in Go
• Drive the development of advanced document processing and AI infrastructure (including model serving and data pipelines)
• Ensure high system reliability, observability, and performance at scale
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and AI teams

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development experience, with 3+ years in Go (hands-on experience is a must)
• 3+ years of experience in technical leadership positions
• A strong track record of delivering high-scale distributed systems and production-grade APIs (REST/gRPC)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Redis, etc.)
• Passion for mentorship, teamwork, and staying close to the code
• Excellent communication skills and a bias toward ownership and execution
