The Team:

The Fertecon Analysis team is part of the S&P Global Agribusiness business unit and sits in CERA within the S&P Energy division. For almost 50 years it has been the leading source of market information and analysis on fertilizers and fertilizer raw materials, producing a range of short- and long-term analysis products to provide data, analysis and insight on the fertilizer markets.

Responsibilities and Impact:

As an Analyst – Sulphur and Phosphate Raw Materials, you will play a vital role in analyzing fertilizer raw materials, working closely with experienced Fertecon team analysts in a collaborative and intellectually rigorous environment. You will build deep market expertise by engaging with other commodities teams across S&P Global, while developing advanced skills in market modeling, forecasting, and data-driven storytelling to support informed decision-making for leading industry participants.

· Contribute as part of a team to the production of three long-term market outlooks (quarterly) and one short-term market outlook (monthly) for sulphur and phosphate raw materials.

· Analyze and prepare forecasts on prices, supply, demand, and trade in the relevant product markets.

· Maintain and enhance existing models and databases, working closely with other analysts and S&P Global colleagues to ensure consistency, robustness, and data integrity.

· Support the development of new analytical products and services in collaboration with a team of market-leading analysts.

· Represent S&P Global Fertilizers at international conferences and client meetings, discussing market developments and presenting a professional, informed, and positive image to the industry.

· Provide analytical input and market insight to sales, marketing, and customer success teams to support prospects, subscribers, and strategic initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

· Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) and/or a proven track record of relevant work experience.

· Strong command of English, including excellent writing and proofreading skills; experience producing written analytical reports on fertilizer, metals, oil & gas, or related commodity markets is an advantage.

· Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills and strong overall digital literacy, including the ability to create clear charts, tables, and visualizations.

· Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking mindset – you enjoy working with data, identifying trends, and turning analysis into actionable insights that help clients achieve their business goals.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

· A collaborative team player with strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of planning and delivering high-quality monthly and quarterly products on deadlines.

· Experience in fertilizer (particularly sulphur and phosphate raw materials), chemicals, oil and gas, base metals, or broader commodity markets, supported by strong secondary research skills and the ability to generate unique insights through both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

· Comfortable engaging with clients and commercial teams to discuss market developments and explain analytical views.

· Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or Python is an advantage and will support your development in modelling and data analysis.
