About the Role

Description

Summary: As a general laborer, you will be responsible for sorting, separating and deburring steel by hand, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Verifying each finished product has the correct inventory tag or shipping tag before moving the product to the staging area.
  • Deburr, grind and sand steel by hand using pneumatic tools, according to customer specifications and procedures.
  • Paint materials using spray guns or hand brush, rivet parts together to customer specs.
  • Identify, sort and separate steel by hand to include strapping and stacking according to company specifications and procedures. 
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
  • Clean up dirt and debris in work area both during and end of shift.
  • Check work areas for hazards.
  • Assist welders in handling raw materials and finished products, including tasks such as lifting, moving, and bundling items to ensure efficient production flow.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
