Family Service Worker (AB/Discovery & Early Head Start)

SCOPE OF WORK: The Family Services Worker supports the implementation of the Standing Rock 0–5 and Head Start programs by coordinating family services, maintaining confidential records, and connecting families to community resources. This role focuses on recruiting and enrolling families, fostering parent engagement, ensuring children receive required health and developmental services, and collaborating with program staff and external agencies to promote the well-being of children and families.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit and enroll eligible children (ages 0–5) and families, maintain accurate and confidential records, and manage all required data entry and reporting.
- Conduct home visits, develop Family Partnership Agreements, and provide ongoing support, referrals, and follow-up services to families.
- Coordinate with community agencies and resources to ensure families receive appropriate social, health, and educational services.
- Support health service delivery by ensuring children receive medical, dental, and developmental screenings, including scheduling and transportation when needed.
- Promote parent engagement by organizing and facilitating parent meetings, trainings, and participation in program activities.
- Collaborate with program staff and supervisors to meet reporting requirements, participate in assessments, and support overall program operations, including classroom assistance when necessary.
- Will be required to perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
- Driver’s License Preferred.
SHIFT: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
TESTING AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
Tribal, State, and Federal background investigation and MVR screening required.
HIRING PREFERENCES:
Qualified applicants who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe will receive Native American preference.
Qualified applicants will receive Veteran’s Preference with submission of proof of honorable military service (e.g., DD-214).
