About the Role

Description

Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Hours (Shift): 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift based on operational needs


Position Summary:

The Forklift Operator role is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to support material movement within a fast-paced automotive logistics and production environment. This position ensures the timely delivery of parts to the assembly line, accurate inventory handling, and compliance with safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate sit-down forklift equipment safely and efficiently in a production environment
  •  Pick automotive parts and deliver materials to the assembly line to support production flow
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, racks, and staging areas
  • Move, stack, and stage materials according to operational requirements and production schedules
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns
  • Accurately scan and track inventory movements using warehouse systems or RF scanners
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating processes
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times
  • Support inventory counts, audits, and additional warehouse tasks as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of sit-down forklift experience within the last year required
  • Proven ability to safely operate sit-down forklift equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and directions from supervisors and management
  • Basic computer or RF scanner experience preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends as required


Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a warehouse or automotive production environment with exposure to moving equipment and assembly operations
  • Must be able to stand and work on foot for 8 to 10 hours per shift
  • Frequent lifting, bending, walking, and reaching throughout the shift
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions
  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment, including steel-toe shoes or boots and safety glasses at all times on the shop floor
