About the Role

Description

The Position:

As a Pastry Assistant at Fireside Catering, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality desserts for a wide variety of events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, excellent pastry skills, and experience in a professional kitchen environment. The ability to follow large quantity recipes is important.

The Responsibilities:

  • Follow recipes and directions provided to ensure that all items are prepared accurately and efficiently 
  • Assist in pastry decorating including small cakes, cupcakes, etc. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and labeling of all food items  
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure that all food preparation is safe and hygienic 
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen and baking equipment 
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment as part of a larger team. 


The Requirements:

  • Availability Tuesday though Saturday preferably between 7am and 3pm with some flexibility 
  • Skills and techniques in mass production baking 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude 
  • Desert portfolio not required but a bonus!
