Volunteer Coordinator Associate

Description
Volunteer Coordinator Associates are responsible for setting up volunteer stations, so they are ready for each shift. They are also responsible for assisting volunteers and giving clear directions on what their tasks are. They must be able to answer any questions that volunteers may have. Volunteer Coordinator Associates need to have excellent people skills and be willing to accommodate volunteers by answering their questions or placing them where they would be most comfortable working. Volunteers are a very important part of Blessings of Hope, and it is important that they feel appreciated.
This role combines volunteer interaction with hands-on warehouse work, including lifting, setup, and cleanup. This is not a desk-based or administrative role.
This is a hands-on, entry-level position working on the warehouse floor, actively supporting volunteers and daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Set up food processing, packaging, and sorting areas before each volunteer shift
- Welcome volunteers and guide them through their assigned tasks
- Answer questions and provide clear, simple directions
- Stay engaged on the floor to support volunteers throughout their shift
- Help ensure volunteers have everything they need to be successful
- Assist with cleanup and resetting the space after each shift
- Complete daily tasks as directed by the manager
Requirements
- Enjoy working with people and being part of a team
- Able to stay active and work on your feet for most of the shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and basic organizational skills
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willing to learn equipment such as a forklift (training provided)
- Able to complete a background check
Schedule
This position is full-time. Must be flexible and willing to work 1 evening a week and 1 Saturday a month.
Hours can vary and change but will mostly look like this:
Monday 7AM - 4:30PM
Tuesday 7AM - 4:30PM
Wednesday 12PM - 10PM
Thursday OFF
Friday 7AM - 4:30PM
