Our story begins in 1915 in Grant, Michigan where the Bolthouse family started farming vegetables. When William Herman Bolthouse took over the farm from his parents in 1938, he expanded and focused on the production and distribution of carrots. In 1973, a second facility in Bakersfield, California was opened where year-round production was possible allowing broader distribution. Frustrated with the waste in the carrot business, a local Bolthouse Farms grower peeled and cut “ugly” carrots into pieces and sold them in bags. With that simple act, baby carrots were born, transforming the entire industry. Baby carrots seemed to make Americans eat more carrots, helping to double carrot consumption in the U.S. in the decade after they were introduced. For more than a century, Bolthouse Farms has been known as the innovation leader in growing and distributing carrots and high-quality, innovative branded products. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE 

The Inventory Clerk will provide support to all areas plant operations in the area of inventory control and parts management. The successful candidate will control, maintain and dispense inventory parts for the plants and keep control of work orders. The candidate will need to utilize excellent customer service knowledge, and fundamental administration skills


  • Provide service to internal plant customers requiring parts and materials
  • Enter transactions into computerized inventory management system
  • Serve as a liaison between various departments to maximize efficiency, and expedite process flow
  • Perform various inventory related assignments to ensure proper levels of parts inventory and materials
  • Will coordinate materials return procedures
  • Ensure invoice information is recorded accurately on a daily basis
  • Maintain safe and clean work area
  • Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computation or count, investigate and report reasons for discrepancies
  • Compile information on receipt of disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies and compute inventory balance, price, and costs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School/GED or one to two years’ experience in related field or combination of both education and experience
  • Forklift Certification or must be able to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire 
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check. 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle customers, vendors, and employees in a friendly, courteous, and diplomatic manner
  • Effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
  • Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment
  • Ability to plan, organize and perform multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent mathematical skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 ° Fahrenheit or above).
  • Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 ° Fahrenheit or below).
  • May be required to sit or stand for an extended period of time during work period
  • May be required to package items, lift and carry boxes up to 20 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ramps, steps ladders, stairs using three- point contact.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  

HOURS & WORKDAYS: 

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM –  2:30 PM, Monday- Friday; Overtime, weekends and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs; Rotating Days Off.
