About the Role

Description

 Ascentec Engineering is hiring at our Dallas, Oregon facility!


We are looking for a detail-oriented OSP Inspector / Rework Technician to ensure that our precision-machined Aerospace metal components coming back from Outside Service Providers (OSP) meet engineering and quality requirements prior to release into the QC lab. This role is responsible for identifying nonconformances, performing allowable rework to bring parts into compliance, and documenting issues for communication to internal teams and external vendors. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality and supporting vendor accountability. Typical OSP Vendor processes to be verified include anodize coatings on aluminum components, chem film coatings on aluminum components, paint coatings, precision cleaning processes, passivation of stainless-steel components, and other similar processes on precision machined metal components.

This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) at our Dallas, Oregon facility, and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming parts from OSP vendors for compliance to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Identify, document, and communicate all nonconformances found during inspection
  • Perform rework on nonconforming parts when permissible and within defined procedures to achieve compliance
  • Ensure all inspection results and rework activities are accurately documented and traceable
  • Communicate issues clearly to the QC Manager to support vendor feedback and corrective actions
  • Support Purchasing and Quality teams by providing documentation for vendor chargebacks when applicable
  • Maintain organization and control of incoming OSP parts prior to QC release
  • Follow all quality procedures, safety requirements, and aerospace standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to OSP quality and internal      processes

Interpersonal Contacts and Personal Qualifications:

  • Communication with QC Manager, Quality team, and purchasing to ensure clear understanding of vendor performance and product quality issues. 
  • Must be detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and escalating issues. 
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support production flow and maintain high-quality standards. 
  • Self-starter, organized, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Reliable, dependable, and maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude. 
  • Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to accountability and continuous improvement.

Minimum / Preferred Requirements:

Education / Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Minimum Experience:

  • 1–2 years of aerospace inspection and/or rework experience required
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with industry specifications and standards. 
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment.
  • Experience documenting nonconformances and working within a quality system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Outside Service Providers (OSP) or vendor-supplied processes
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100
  • Experience performing precision rework in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic understanding of inspection techniques and measurement tools
  • Ability to document issues clearly and accurately
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Mental / Physical Demands:

  • Ability to handle small precision components and perform detailed inspection work. 
  • May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting up to 25–50 pounds. 
  • Must maintain focus during inspection and documentation tasks.
