About the Role

JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the Installations, Logistics, and Manufacturing (ILM) Business Unit at the Production Facility in Ogden, UT. This employee must be a versatile member of the manufacturing team responsible for supporting key functions across production operations. This position will support multiple aspects of the manufacturing facility as we continue to grow, meaning this employee will take on many different tasks, including but not limited to: 

  • Estimating and Quoting 
  • Inventory Management
  • Purchasing Support
  • Data Entry & Analysis
  • Special Projects Coordination


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create cost and labor estimates for small wire harness assemblies based on engineering drawing packages
  • Track inventory levels and issue materials to work orders
  • Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Assist in placing purchase orders for parts and supplies
  • Assist on material and labor scheduling
  • Enter production and inventory data into ERP/MRP systems
  • Manipulate Engineering drawings into indentured BOMs that can be uploaded into ERP/MRP Systems
  • Generate and analyze reports related to material usage, lead times, and order fulfillment
  • Lead or assist in special projects such as production improvement initiatives, re-vamping the inventory system, or layout optimization
  • Liaise with Engineering to provide technical updates to production and manufacturing inputs to the Engineering team

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory software preferred 
  • Proficiency in Excel or database systems for data entry and basic analysis
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Success Metrics / Performance Expectations

  • Estimating & Quoting
  • Produces cost and labor estimates within ±10% accuracy of actuals
  • Delivers quotes within established timelines (typically within 48 hours)

Inventory Management

  • Maintains inventory accuracy at or above 98%
  • Completes required cycle counts on schedule and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Minimizes production disruptions due to inventory issues

ERP/MRP Data Integrity

  • Ensures accurate and timely entry of production, inventory, and BOM data (=98% accuracy)
  • Maintains high-quality, usable BOM structures for production planning

Purchasing & Scheduling Support

  • Submits purchase requests on time and with accurate information
  • Supports material availability to meet production schedules with minimal delays

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produces accurate and timely reports to support operational decision-making
  • Identifies trends or issues and provides actionable recommendations when appropriate

Continuous Improvement & Special Projects

  • Actively contributes to process improvements, cost savings, or efficiency initiatives
  • Successfully completes assigned projects within agreed timelines

Collaboration & Communication

  • Effectively communicates and coordinates with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams
  • Demonstrates professionalism, responsiveness, and reliability in a team environment

Reliability & Work Ethic

  • Consistently meets deadlines and manages multiple priorities effectively
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with company standards


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (technical degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Familiarity with wire harness or electro-mechanical assembly preferred

SECURITY CLEARANCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation. 
  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
